Brocade approves SmartOptics DWDM system.

SmartOptics has built on the success of its passive CWDM and ELWL platforms with the approval of its passive DWDM system. Approved are the popular T-3832 mux/demux, a 32 channel 1U unit capable of handling all SAN/WAN protocols and our 4Gbps DWDM SFP Transceivers, capable of transmission distances of 80km for 4GFC. Customers can now quickly and easily connect even higher density SAN/WAN networks together on the same fibre pair without the need for expensive and complicated active DWDM equipment. Up to 32 channels of Ethernet (1G or 10G) and/or Fibre Channel (1G, 2G, 4G, 10G) are seamlessly handled in any combination.
