SmartOptics is delighted to announce the launch of the T-4900 wdm platform.  The T-4900 is a complete 10G carrier class transmission platform offering all features and functionality in an ultra compact 1U form factor.  Up to 4 transponders are available in a single T-4900 unit which can also be configured in repeater mode.  With Performance Monitoring, Protection Switching, network management and a host of other features available as standard, SmartOptics continues to revolutionise the way in which networks are built.  Versions are also available with one or two in-built EDFA amplifiers.  All interfaces are based on popular XFP transceivers meaning that spare parts can be conveniently stored and managed; with the availability of CWDM XFPs from SmartOptics, the T-4900 can also be seamlessly integrated in to an existing CWDM network.  No additional transponders are required as more channels are added to the system.  Multiple T-4900s can be connected together to provide up to 40 channels of 10G traffic over a single fibre pair.
